RIP Brother McGreevey

It is with deep regret that I announce the death of Brother Mike McGreevey. Mike was a service rep formerly at the Crosspoint Towers in Lowell. He recently left the company following a lengthy absence, so his passing, while not unexpected, is no less sad. Mike will be missed by his family, friends, and co-workers. Please keep them in your prayers. Calling hours are on Thursday, November 30th, from 4-7pm, at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral home at 223 Lawrence St. in Methuen. His funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 1st beginning at 11:00 am at Saint Monica Catholic Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, Ma. 02114-1101.

Again, please keep Mike, his family, and friends in your prayers.

Special Incentive EIPP Retirement Meetings for IBEW Members

Margaret Pierce, New England Regional Manager for Scarborough Alliance, will be meeting with all IBEW local members starting this weekend, Sunday November 12th through next Sunday November 19th, day and evening hours, at the IBEW Local 2222 office: 159 Thomas E. The IBEW Local Unions Savings and Security Plan is a qualified defined contribution plan established in 1975 for IBEW members. The plan is overseen by the IBEW Trustees and offers members a qualified plan to roll over their Verizon Pension and Fidelity 401(K) assets. The investments and managed account options offered in the plan are overseen by the IBEW trustees. Scarborough Alliance is the only financial services firm that administers and acts in a fiduciary capacity under the plan for IBEW members.

2023-2024 Massachusetts AFL-CIO Scholarship Program

Local 2321 is proud to announce our Annual Scholarship Program for 2023.  Held in conjunction with the MA AFL-CIO Scholarship Program, Local 2321 offers 6 scholarships of $800 to graduating high school seniors who will be attending college or job training.  Candidates must be children or grandchildren of active local 2321 members.  Applicants must get a passing grade on a labor history exam done online at their school the week of February 5th to February 9th, 2024.

Applications are due by December 22, 2023.  Applications are available at www.massaflcio.org/scholarships.  All study materials including the study guide, flash cards, and quizzes are available at www.learnlaborhistory.com.

Super EIPP Information

Verizon has announced a surplus under Article G25 of our contract. For those in surplus locations and titles, the company will offer the terms if the Special Enhanced Income Protection Plan. Affected employees will receive the offer by mail no later than October 31st. The volunteer period is October 31st through November 14th, and the off property date is December 3rd.
